If I Shut Up heaven. Part [8] 06/17/2022 (Morning thought)

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

At this point, before we proceed, the above Bible verse must be given careful consideration, because the prophet Elijah has been closely associated with a lack of rain and the ensuing famine which shook ancient Israel to the very core. There is nothing new under the sun, and what has taken place in times past often repeats itself.

Now, it is true that in our day, we have contributed to global warming and the dire results before us are to a great extent the natural law of cause and effect of sowing and reaping that are now coming due. However, that does not stop God from sending rain, so, can it be that there may be other factors at play, why the extremes in temperature, and the resulting drought continue to worsen and deepen across the globe with the passage of time?

What is even more disturbing, and should sound an alarm bell in many minds, is the passage that comes just before the opening passage. It could not be a coincidence, since the severe drought and a lack of rain in Elijah’s day, was directly tied to the issue of persons disregarding the commandments of God.

Malachi 4:4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
