The Habit Of Forgiving Trespasses. Part [11] 05/29/2022 (Morning thought)

1st Corinthians 13:Charity suffers long, and is kind; charity envies not; charity vaunts not itself, is not puffed up. Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; Bears all things, believeth all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Charity never fails.

[Testimonies vol.5 pp 169] Love He whose heart is imbued with love is filled with sorrow at the errors and weaknesses of others; but when truth triumphs, when the cloud that darkened the fair fame of another is removed, or when sins are confessed and wrongs corrected, he rejoices.

Love not only bears with others’ faults, but cheerfully submits to whatever suffering or inconvenience such forbearance makes necessary. This love “never faileth.” It can never lose its value; it is the attribute of heaven. As a precious treasure it will be carried by its possessor through the portals of the city of God.

Let the love of God pervade our hearts, and as we go about our daily duties, and as we interact with persons who may not treat us right from time to time, let us forgive and forget, because doing so will enable us to form the habit of forgiveness, and as we all know, practice makes perfect. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which encourages us to follow in Christ’s footsteps, for it is the will of God that Christians reflect the radiance of His character, by dealing only in the currency of heaven.

Matthew 6: 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
