Pros And Cons Of Foreknowledge. Part [11] 05/13/2022 (Evening thought)

Matthew 26:51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear. 52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

Therefore, the questions is: Should the knowledge of the possibility of misuse by some, stop us from inventing things such as swords? If we were to go that route then foreknowledge of the possibility of evil would become the controlling factor in our decision-making and the good that can be accomplished will be tabled as a result.

The same is true of God, for if the foreknowledge of the fall of some men and some angels, caused Him to put creation on hold indefinitely, the very much good that would also result would never come into fruition, and thus, God would become subservient to the knowledge of evil, something that isn’t good at all by any means.

This mode of decision making would consequently put the progress of the universe into reverse gear, and the fear of potential evils would become the controlling factor in every good thing God wanted to do. Therefore, in order to solve the problem once and for all, God decided to go ahead and create angels and men with intelligence and freedom to choose, so that all who so desired could decide once and for all, if they would choose to willingly obey or rebel.

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
