2nd Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
[The Great Controversy pp 627] God's judgments will be visited upon those who are seeking to oppress and destroy his people. His long forbearance with the wicked emboldens men in transgression, but their punishment is none the less certain and terrible because it is long delayed. When Christ ceases his intercession in the sanctuary, the unmingled wrath threatened against those who worship the beast and his image and receive his mark, [Revelation 14:9, 10.] will be poured out.
Let us then rise to the occasion, not only by helping in temporal matters, but like Jesus who healed the physical and spiritually sick, let us do whatsoever we can to rescue humanity, for we are living on the brink of eternity, and major retribution will become due, much sooner than we think.
We will end with a passage of scripture which will remind us that things will not go on this way forever and that true Christians the world over, have a part to play as the final scenes of earth’s history unfold.
2nd Peter 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
