Matthew 12:45 Then goeth he, and takes with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. 46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
It is worthy of note that the timing of this particular interruption occurred just as Jesus was making such a revelation about the work of devils on the human heart, that would warrant from them an immediate response to try if possible, to divert the attention of the multitudes from truths that would be critically important to their understanding of the invisible world.
Observe in the context and timing, what’s really taking place, when out of the blue, the request to stop speaking, and attend to some family matters took place. If we’ll receive it, it’s just another good temptation coming from the enemy of souls, for the success of his diabolical work largely depends upon whether he can divert the attention and focus from off of Christ.
Disturbances and temptations such as these often take place at a critical moment when the pastor or an elder may be delivering some sacred truths from the sacred desk, that would make a difference in some person’s life. Just at the opportune moment, the cell phone may ring, or some other distraction may occur. It is most often a good temptation that’s occurring even though some may be none the wiser.
Luke 10:41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part which shall not be taken away from her.
