Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
At times we have battles to fight and there may be some thorny issues which persist for years. And it will seem as if we are caught between the devil and the deep red sea, with old pharaoh in the rear, and the ocean before us. Yet, for the believer there’s always a way out. Let’s repeat so that you will read correctly: There is always a way out! Always!
In fact, God was not at a loss for ways and means when He chose to lead His people through the red sea, for this was not the only way of escape. God could have caused those Egyptians to turn back in dismay without what He chose to do. He could have sent out one angel, as He had done in another instance, when all the first-born of Egypt were smitten, and the king of Egypt would be history.
But God deliberately chose to lead all the Hebrews through the red sea for specific reasons, and that is because He had determined to kill two birds with one stone as it were; [1] To baptize the entire assembly all at once and [2] To shake down pharaoh and his army once and for all, that’s all.
1st Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
