Hebrews 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.
The book of Hebrews takes on an entirely different tone from all the rest of Paul’s writings. It is a book filled with clear-cut and sobering truths which bring the seriousness and assurance of our salvation into full view and then it exhorts us not to undervalue or take for granted that which was accomplished for us on Calvary.
The book of Hebrews begins with establishing the fact that The Person who was to lay down His life for the human family, was and still is the greatest gift that can be bestowed on us. Jesus Christ who paid the highest price for our redemption is not merely a good man, or a secondary God, He is the fullness of the God-head bodily.
It is important for Paul to establish this fact up-front so that as he proceeds with describing what Jesus went through to save us, we would understand that it is The God of heaven who by His sacrifice has now given to the human family royal status, and because of this, Christ is our greatest treasure.
Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
