Living By The Word Of God. Part [3] 05/18/2021 (Morning thought)

Psalms 119:126 It is time for thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void thy law.

Case in point is how as a country, we have allowed societal pressures to do violence to the institution of marriage which God had originally set as the gold standard in Eden for all future generations. Back in those days it was one man for one female woman, and for many years that model was embraced and practiced here in this country.

But gradually, there was a clamor for change, and the groundswell became so great, and the pressure so intense that the legislature capitulated, and gave the people what the majority clamored for. Some of the legislature were not convinced in their heart of hearts, but because the pressure was mounting on all sides, and because Rome approved it, God’s law on marriage was eventually thrown out.

According to the dictionary, an amendment to the constitution is a change, or an addition designed to improve a text, or a piece of legislation. But, once we start down that path it then becomes a slippery slope, being subjected to the winds of change and societal pressures, that blow in different directions. Therefore, on June 26, 2013 the Supreme Court of the United States issued its final decision in United States v. Windsor, then ruling that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) is unconstitutional on equal protection grounds.

Isaiah 24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. 6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
