Evolution Versus Creation. Part [7] 04/25/2021 (Evening thought)

1st Corinthians 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profits me nothing. 4 Charity suffers long, and is kind; charity envies not; charity vaunts not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own.

In Darwin’s world major corporations often flex their financial muscles and scoop up small companies that may lack the resources to thrive in a fiercely competitive environment. Thus, long before Darwin came on the scene, God found it necessary to address the under-girding principle of survival of the fittest. He gave us laws, and instructions that were meant to prevent persons from thinking of themselves as being superior to others.

And in several passages in the Bible God instructs us to track a different course than that of survival of the fittest. Paul instructs us in the book of Philippians not to look every man on his own things but rather on the things of others, meaning that we are not to be so consumed with our own survival that the interests and well being of others takes a back seat.

The general tenor of the Bible is to put God first, others next, and self last. When this mode of thought and action is adopted we will not see persons rushing to the front of the line for vaccinations against Covid, and richer countries which have the financial resources would not be found hoarding supplies. In creationism everything and everyone desires to serve, which levels the playing field, so that the poor and the rich, the high and the low all get a chance at survival.

1st Corinthians 13::13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
