2nd Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, 4 Traitors, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.
Individuals and nations are becoming more and more insensitive to crime, violence, and immorality, in so much that the things from which we formerly recoiled in horror are now being accepted as the norm. In response, God has had no other choice but to take it up several notches by permitting natural disasters, such as fires, hurricanes, and floods, together with diseases and pandemics to bring us to our knees.
Economies of the world are being severely shaken, and the fallout has yet to be fully assessed as millions of lives are being lost, Covid continues to wreak havoc across the globe, and the bleeding continues. Yet for all of this, we seem not to be getting the message. Finally, when everything else has failed, after every means has been utterly exhausted, God will issue a decisive threat to our generation, with the intent that sincere-hearted individuals will respond in the positive.
As was demonstrated before, this is not His preferred method, but it is the only one which remains in His arsenal. The God of heaven much prefers that folks respond to His gracious overtures, rather than employ those methods of dragging and threats we read about in the examples given. Therefore, the appeal to us is quite simple: Let it not be said of us that God had to use dragging and threats to bring us to our knees.
Isaiah 1:19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land. 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
