America In Prophecy. Part [3] 04/14/2021 (Evening thought)

Revelation 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

The two important words in this excerpt are “beast” and “another”. The Bible explains what a beast is in prophecy, for it refers to a nation or kingdom., as is explained in Daniel chapter 7. But John says he saw “Another” beast. The word “Another” is a pronoun and it can mean one of two things: (1) an additional thing or person of the same type as the one already mentioned or known about. (2) a different person or thing from one already mentioned or known about.

If a man is at a Tiki bar, and after having one or two Budweisers he asked for another beer, that request could mean one out of two things; either he wants another Bud or he desires an entirely different beer. so the question is: In the context of the passage, which one is it? The first or the second meaning? Is it a beast with similar characteristics as the one previously mentioned, or is it an entirely new beast, different from the one before?

The Bible is clear on the interpretation, for although the second beast mentioned in the chapter arises in apparent innocence and gentleness, yet it is predicted to demonstrate, and morph into some of the characteristics of the first beast. The beast before it in the chapter represents papal Rome, and therefore, the lamb-like beast will manifest prominent features which Rome displayed in years gone by.

Revelation 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
