The Problem Of Favoritism. Part [14] 12/08/2021 (Morning thought)

Revelation 14:And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation.

As the people go to their former teachers with the eager inquiry, Are these things so? the ministers present fables, prophesy smooth things, to soothe their fears, and quiet the awakened conscience. But since many refuse to be satisfied with the mere authority of men, and demand a plain “Thus saith the Lord,” the popular ministry, like the Pharisees of old, filled with anger as their authority is questioned will denounce the message as of Satan, and stir up the sin-loving multitudes to revile and persecute those who proclaim it.

Thus, we must reiterate again as we close, let none whom God has called to preach, or speak be found using favoritism, but let them be found as faithful stewards of the riches of His grace, for error never saved anyone, but the truth shall make you free.  We will end with a passage of scripture that should encourage us to be faithful to truth and duty, thus avoiding the deadly snare of favoritism.

Ezekiel 2:6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. 7 And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
