2nd Peter 2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
Some people hate God because they view His laws as being too restrictive. There are those who view God’s commands as being too restrictive on their so-called liberties, not considering that the liberty they claim to have was originally given them by God. God could have made us like robots, to do His bidding like Rhumba or like Alexa, but in His wisdom and love, He chose not to do this.
Instead, He endowed us with the freedom of choice to obey or rebel, with consequences. Thus, in most areas of our lives, persons often choose to live in a contrary manner to what God has commanded for our best good. From diets and foods, to issues on gender, to entertainment, and to the original day of rest, the majority of earth’s inhabitants view God’s laws as being too stringent.
The current virus which continues to wreak so much havoc across nations, and which has many brethren waiting in the wings is the inevitable result of eating forbidden foods. But most folk prefer not to reason from cause to effect, and rather than adopt the diet that’s in harmony with the scriptures, some balk at having to give up ingestion of forbidden foods.
Leviticus 11:7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven-footed, yet he chews not the cud; he is unclean to you. 8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
