Very Great Changes Are Coming Soon. 09/15/2015 (Evening thought)

Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

This passage of scripture tells us that great changes are coming soon, to the world and life as we know it, and because of the moral declension that is accelerating, both internationally and nationally, we can be certain that the signs Christ has predicted in the passage will come to pass in our generation. Perplexity of nations means that the nations of the earth will have no viable solutions to the insurmountable social and economic problems that are coming upon the face of the earth, and all we have to do to confirm that this is currently taking place, is to look at the great sea of migrants flowing into European countries, fleeing bloodshed, war, and crime of no ordinary character.

Years of war and suicide bombings have taken their toll, and according to the world health organization, there are about 60 million people now on the move, looking for safe haven in more developed countries, and this influx of migrants is sure to bring in some bad apples too. But as though this were not enough, the passage in Luke also speaks of terrible, natural upheavals, and man-made disasters, which will have a crippling effect on business as we know it, and the accompanying fear and anxiety of millions will just add to the fray.

The unusually brutal and intense wildfires in California, together with the years of severe drought in that state, are all symptomatic of the end time prophecies spoken of in the Bible, and as society casts out the divine restraints of God's law, we must expect a corresponding increase in instability, in the systems of earth, which according to the scriptures, are scheduled to collapse. Let's read:

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

(Last Day Events pp. 11&12) The calamities by land and sea, the unsettled state of society, the alarms of war, are portentous. They forecast approaching events of the greatest magnitude. The agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and final movements will be rapid ones. The world is becoming more and more lawless. Soon great trouble will arise among the nations—trouble that will not cease until Jesus comes.

We are on the very verge of the time of trouble, and perplexities that are scarcely dreamed of are before us. We are standing on the threshold of the crisis of the ages. In quick succession the judgments of God will follow one another—fire, and flood, and earthquake, with war and bloodshed.

It thus behooves us to make the most of the remaining moments of time, to fulfill the great commission given to us By Christ, for we are already witnessing how the agencies of evil are becoming more and more averse to Christianity, and how the the principles and teachings of the scriptures are now being interpreted as hate speech. These developments then tell us that we have limited time to do the work given us by God, and as such it's of critical importance that we be found faithful.

Let us therefore step up to the plate by ramping up our efforts to carry the everlasting gospel to a dying world, and as Christians, let us each be found living the gospel that we preach, for the time is at hand. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which points us to the time when the work of the gospel will be forever closed, and it is the will of God that every Christian do his or her endeavor best, to proclaim these truths in our neck of the woods, whilst we have opportunity to. Let's read:

Matthew 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted".... "and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

May God add His blessing to the study and practice of His word. "Good night" and God bless!
