John 13:21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. 22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. 26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. 27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. 28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.
This passage of scripture teaches us of one of the more common occurrences of demon possession, in which satan takes entire control of a person's mind. On this occasion, Christ had just finished washing the disciples feet, and as they sat around the table, partaking of the bread and grape juice that had been provided, Jesus made His last and final appeal to Judas, for him not to take that fatal step in selling his soul for thirty pieces of silver. But Judas had persisted in the ways of his own choosing, and instead of confessing his sin whilst forgiveness was still available, he stubbornly refused Christ's gracious overtures to save him from certain ruin. Let's read".
Matthew 26:24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. 25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
It is worthy of note however, that after having rejected Christ's offers of mercy, satan entered into him and took control of his entire mind. At this time Judas was not seen to be frothing at the mouth, or rolling his eyes, nor was there any wild bodily contortions to suggest that he had just passed the point of no return. There he sat in his suit and tie, with his briefcase in hand, speaking coherently and intelligently, while at the same time being remotely controlled by the devil. Demon possession in our day is often after this order, where there may be no outward manifestations to suggest that a person might be fully possessed by, and it is for this reason that many do not think anything strange took place when the sacred institution on marriage was trodden underfoot by the decision of the supreme court.
Right after that fatal mistake was made, there was singing and dancing in the streets, as many people celebrated the ousting of God's law on this point, and even though many people do not know it, like Judas of old, satan entered into many and took full control of their minds. But the next day they went to work as usual, and were permitted to retain their intelligence, and some even went to various churches across the land, to ask God's blessing on what He has expressly forbidden.
Let us as Christians not be swayed by the so-called victory songs being sung, because, more sooner than later, we are going to witness with our very own eyes, the morbid results of that decision, and when we do, the singing and dancing will be turned in weeping and mourning, the likes of which we have never seen. When the door of the Ark was shut, and no rain fell for several days, the people of Noah's day gathered around the Ark, and partied, and sang, and danced with a vehemence and boldness that defied reason. But on the eigth day of their celebrations, their chickens came home to roost, and as the large drops of rain began to come down in torrents, their joy was turned to fear and weeping, for they then realized too late that they had crossed the boundary of God's forbearance, never ever to return. Let's read:
For seven days after Noah and his family entered the ark, there appeared no sign of the coming storm. It was a time of triumph to the world without. The apparent delay confirmed them in the belief that Noah’s message was a delusion, and that the Flood would never come. Notwithstanding the solemn scenes which they had witnessed—the beasts and birds entering the ark, and the angel of God closing the door—they still continued their sport and revelry, even making a jest of these signal manifestations of God’s power. They gathered in crowds about the ark, deriding its inmates with a daring violence which they had never ventured upon before.
But upon the eighth day dark clouds overspread the heavens. There followed the muttering of thunder and the flash of lightning. Soon large drops of rain began to fall. The world had never witnessed anything like this, and the hearts of men were struck with fear. All were secretly inquiring, “Can it be that Noah was in the right, and that the world is doomed to destruction?” Darker and darker grew the heavens, and faster came the falling rain. The beasts were roaming about in the wildest terror, and their discordant cries seemed to moan out their own destiny and the fate of man. Then “the fountains of the great deep” were “broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.” Water appeared to come from the clouds in mighty cataracts. Rivers broke away from their boundaries, and overflowed the valleys. Jets of water burst from the earth with indescribable force, throwing massive rocks hundreds of feet into the air, and these, in falling, buried themselves deep in the ground. Demon possession in millions of people will again cause many to make a mockery of the religion of the Bible, and in so doing many people will be driven by remote control to the brink of eternal doom, if confession and repentance does not take place. Let us therefore not be fooled with wild celebrations and singing in the streets, for a very dark cloud has overspread the land, and in due time we will reap that which we have sown as a nation. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which confirms this sacred truth, and it is the will of God that we now take a definite stand for the right, even though it is becoming increasingly unpopular to do so. Let's read:
Isaiah 2:12 For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low. 19 And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study and practice of His every word. God bless!
