The 1000 Years Of Sabbatical Rest. 06/07/2015 (Evening thought)

Revelation 20:1  And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.  2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,  3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

This passage of scripture teaches us that one thousand years of sabbatical rest will come due when the six thousand years of incessant planting and reaping have expired. Since the fall of man, God has given agricultural laws for us to follow, by which the longevity and productivity of the earth may be maintained, but as with many of the other laws and instructions He has given, we have chosen to ignore that which is for our best good. Everything which God has created runs in cycles, from the weather patterns, to the production of fruit and grain. Thus, whenever these cycles are interfered with for any reason, then adverse effects are sure to follow, for God is as much the Author of spiritual law, as He is of natural and physical law.

Very specific instructions were given to the Hebrews to be dispersed to the world concerning the cycles of planting and reaping, together with the years of Sabbatical rest that would come due. If these instructions were followed religiously, we would not now be forced to resort to genetically modified foods, which are vastly inferior in nutritional value, than those that are produced naturally. Hence the reason why it is costing us more and more to eat healthily, and this negative trend will continue until the earth has become entirely worn out, all because of a disregard for the laws that were given to us in infinite wisdom. Let's read:

Leviticus 25:1  And the Lord spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying,  2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the Lord.  3 Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof;  4 But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the Lord: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.  5 That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land.

The earth is approximately six thousand years old, according to the scriptural record, not millions of years as science and evolution erroneously teach, and because the land has not been given its due rest over the past centuries therefore 1000 years of Sabbatical rest is due to compensate for the six thousand years which will soon expire. As a matter of fact, one of the main reasons why the Hebrews were taken into Babylonian captivity, was because they had refused to follow the God-ordained instructions regarding the cycles of planting, reaping, and Sabbatical rest for the land. Let's read:

2nd Chronicles 36:20 And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:  21 To fulfil the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

The question then is, what can we do in our neck of the woods to mitigate the evils that have accrued across the land, as a result of incessant planting? As it stands, there is not much that everyone can do, because not everyone has property or real estate on which to plant fruit and vegetables organically, therefore we offer two suggestions, which if prayed about for guidance and direction, God will be pleased to answer according to His perfect will. (1) Wherever it is possible and whenever it's affordable, we should try to purchase organic foods which contain significantly higher nutritional value than the GMO foods we now ingest. This will call for an additional outlay of means, but it will be well worth it, for as we get closer to the end of time, our priorities will need to change.

(2) If we have real estate, we may want to seriously consider investing in Heirloom seeds, which can be obtained by going on the internet and doing a little research, and planting up some portion of the land, so that we can have our own fresh fruit and vegetables to eat, whilst avoiding the many herbicides and pesticides that are used in commercial farming. This action will pay of big dividends in terms of natural foods and physical exercise in the open air, and we will be able to observe the years of Sabbatical rest for the land as God has ordained, in our neck of the woods.

We therefore end with a passage of scripture which encourages us to seek that wisdom that is from above, and God will lead us in the ways of His choosing, if we are humble enough to learn of Him. Let's read:

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

May God add His blessing to the study and practice of His word. "Good night" and God bless!
