1st Kings 18:5 And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all brooks: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts. 17 And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? 18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord"....
This passage of scripture teaches us of the direct link between iniquity, and stalled out economic activities, because all deliberate disobedience to the commandments of God causes a domino effect in both the natural and financial worlds, as was manifested in the days of king Ahab. At this time the evil queen Jezebel had led the Hebrews into the grossest forms of idolatry, and because of her influence over the king and the nation as a whole, the Jews were now embroiled in high-handed rebellion against the God of heaven, and as a direct result, the prophet Elijah was sent with a startling message of impending doom to the king and his people. Let's read:
1st Kings 17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
The prophecy went into immediate effect, and the ensuing famine and recession took their toll on both man and beast, for the rivers dried up, and the blistering heat, humidity, and dust storms caused all economic activity to grind to a halt. Then when asked about the reasons for the economic downturn, with the accompanying fatalities, Elijah responded by telling king Ahab that the real cause was a signal departure from the commandments of God, which then triggered the unusual drought and famine which wiped out the nation's wealth. This stipulated cause and effect must be studied closely by everyone in our day, because the sacred history of Israel's failures was written for our admonition and instruction, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Let's read:
1st Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. 10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
In our day we are found do be following in the footsteps of Jezebel and Ahab, for there is now a fearful departure from the commandments of God, in favor of the commandments of men. And if for any reason, same-sex marriage becomes the law of the land, in direct violation of the commandments of God upon this point, we may expect a very brutal recession to come our way, together with a plethora of natural and man-made disasters which would take a fearful toll on man and beast across the land. Even now, the harbingers of impending doom is seen to be hanging over the financial markets as an ominous cloud, hence the reason why the following information should be carefully observed by students of the Bible.
The Dow Jones industrial Average, which is a key indicator of economic activity has slowed significantly, and has been bobbing and weaving between the 18,000 and 17,000 mark since it was stated in Bible study that it was likely to cross the 18,000 threshold in late December 2014 before the turn of the year, which it did. But since that time it has stalled out, and seems to be out of wind and titter-tottering on a precipitous correction. The real cause for this stalled out economic activity is not so much Greece, Russia, and the crisis in the middle east, but rather a departure from the commandments of God, specifically the distortion of the sacred marriage institution. Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Visa (V). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows. The Market Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +43 points. Wednesday, the Dow closed up +6.04 (+0.03%) at 18,030.21. Year-to-date the Dow is up +8.77%. There were 20 Dow stocks up Wednesday.

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Visa (V) and Disney (DIS. There are no Dow stock 52 week lows. Friday, the Dow closed up +23.50 (+0.13%) at 18,053.71. Year-to-date the Dow is up +8.91%. Nasdaq is up +15.1%, S&P 500 +13.0%.
But since that time, as the gay marriage movement has gained momentum across the land, the economic activity in the country has been suffocating, and as stated before, the economic indicators are up today and down tomorrow, as if in a state of limbo. See additional Information below:

There are no Dow stocks at 52 week highs. Dow stock 52 week lows include Wal-Mart (WMT). The Market Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -27 points. Monday, the Dow was down -107.67 (-0.60%) at 17,791.17.
The decision on same-sex marriage is to be handed down before the end of the month, and most pundits are predicting that the courts will go with the flow. But if that fatal mistake is made, we may know for certain that the laws of cause and effect will be set in motion, and the cries of the nation will rise up to heaven, but God will not hear nor intervene to stop the cascading effects of tumults and troubles, for as we depart from His commandments, then we are left to the mercy of demons, who have no clue what the word mercy means.
It is therefore very important for us to pray as never before, so that the restraining power of the Holy Spirit may guide the minds of the justices, so that hopefully, there might be a lengthening of our tranquility. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which teaches us the right course of action to pursue in times of national turmoil that has been brought about because of national sin, and it is the will of God that every nation, and all individuals now return to the keeping of His commandments, which are given for our very best good. Let's read:
2nd Chronicles 7:12 And the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him".... 13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
