The Other Jesus, And The Other Gospel. 05/02/2015 (Evening thought)

2nd Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.  4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

This passage of scripture warns us of another Jesus and another gospel that has been in circulation for a number of years, and the apostle Paul expresses his concern that Christians might be unaware of the fact and thereby be seduced as was Eve in the garden of Eden. Since the fall of man satan has introduced counterfeits to the true knowledge of God, and that he has been successful in deceiving the overwhelming majority of earth's inhabitants can be seen  by the multitudes that were lost during the flood, and thereafter. The other gospel that is being peddled today does not call for any serious reform on the part of believers, but rather seeks to unite all Christians under the mantle of love.

This, by the way, is pope Francais' message to the Christian world, through which he seeks to add members to the church without them relinquishing their old ways and previous lifestyles, and therefore, the sudden proliferation of alternative lifestyles that have invaded the Christian community can be directly traced to those now famous words "who am I to judge". There is a world of difference between "Judging" and speaking the plain truth, but in order to grant a false sense of security to those who deliberately transgress the plainest teachings of scripture, the truths of God's word, together with His laws and instructions are being watered down to suit the sin-loving multitudes, and instead of the message of repentance, which has been the watchword of all the Bible prophets, we now are witnessing an all-inclusive gospel which harbors, and even countenances some of the most dreadful abominations, all in the name of Christ.

But John the beloved disciple, who dwells primarily on love, has made no such statements in the everlasting gospel to be given in our generation, for as he looked with prophetic eye down through the ages to our time, he saw a christian church steeped in idolatry of the darkest hue, and practicing high-handed iniquity, all in the name of religion. Thus John's message to us in the 21st century is vastly different to the smooth sermons that are often presented from the pulpits of the land, and Christ's gospel to the last day church is more of a threat, than it is a palliative presentation. As a matter of fact, in the everlasting gospel given to our generation, the word love is not even mentioned, but instead we see words such as judgment, wrath, fear, torment, fire, and brimstone, but the word "Love" is strangely absent, even though we know that God is the epitome of what love is. Let's read:

Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,  7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.  9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,  10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.

The reason for such a stern message to our generation is because of the tendency for us to make light of sin, and the growing disposition to call evil good, and good evil. This is the reason why such terrible abominations have been entering many of the churches of Christendom, with some preachers, priests and laity alike committing unnatural sexual acts with minors, and those of the same gender. And instead of calling sin by its right name, and calling for earnest repentance and change, many spiritual leaders are just content to go with the flow, since many of them seem to be more interested in popularity and political clout, rather than standing firmly for righteousness. It was the very same conditions that moved the Lord to utter a rebuke to the religious leaders of Malachi's day. Let's read:

Malachi 2:17 Ye have wearied the Lord with your words".... "When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?

Let us therefore not be carried about by every wind of doctrine, by which the cunning of the serpent and his agents seek to lead the unwary astray, for the same God of yesterday, will be the same God of tomorrow, and the blessing or curses He has promised for obedience and disobedience respectively, will certainly be fulfilled in their due season. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which confirms this sacred truth, and it is the will of God that we be not cross-contaminated by another gospel, another Jesus, or another spirit. Let's read:

Joshua 24:14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served"..... "And serve ye the Lord.  19 "For he is an holy God; he is a jealous God"...  20 If ye forsake the Lord, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

May God add His blessing to the study and practice of His word. "Good night" and God bless!
