An Urgent Call To Prayer. 04/28/2015 (Morning thought)

Genesis 18:20  And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;  21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.  23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?  31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake.  32 And he said".... "Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

This passage of scripture teaches us the right attitude we should be harboring as we see our country on the brink of moral collapse. In the above instance, Abraham was made privy to pending destruction which was to be meted out to Sodom and Gomorrah, on account of the unnatural sexual sins that were being committed there. But instead of standing idly by to see the utter destruction of the doomed cities, Abraham instead saw in the pending judgments, an urgent call to prayer, by which he embarked upon a series of heartfelt intercessions in behalf of the people, albeit to no avail, since the cup of their iniquity had been filled to the brim.

In his prayers he pleaded that if any righteous persons be found, that the twin cities would be spared, thus manifesting that he did not look forward eagerly to the destruction of hundreds of thousands of people, but instead desired of God, mercy on their behalf, if perchance they would turn and repent. In our day, the same scenario is being repeated right before our very eyes, because the sins of Sodom have infiltrated to our day, and with the supreme court set to rule on the matter, Christians everywhere should see in the pending judgments, an urgent call to prayer, because what is taking place before our eyes, is the crumbling of the foundation of society, after which the way will be prepared for billions of evil spirits to be let loose across the land. This particular aspect of last day events is not given much notice by many contemporary Christians, but nevertheless it is scheduled to take place, more sooner than later. Let's read:

Revelation 16:13  And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.  14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

One of the reasons why these devils go forth to the "Kings" of the earth first, is because they desire to control the decision-making processes, after which the multitudes are sure to follow. The word here used "Kings" refers to political and spiritual leaders of the people, who will be adversely affected by both the presence and influence of demons, who will seek to control their minds as major decisions are taking place. And therefore it is now incumbent upon all true Christians to pray as never before, lest we be driven over a spiritual cliff, from which there will be no return.

The Bible accurately predicted the times we are now living in, and if there were previously any misgivings as to the certainty of the scriptures, the current news leaves no doubt, for who would have thought that the social cancer we are now experiencing would ever have become the norm? But the word of God is as sure as the sun rising in the east, and therefore we should be aware that we are now living on the very brink of eternity, for the sexual perversions we are seeing daily, tell us that we are on the edge of the toe nails of the image that Nebuchadnezzar saw in vision. Let's read:

2nd Timothy 3:1  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof"...

Daniel 2:31  Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image"... 34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.  35 "And became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.  44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.  45 "And the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

It is of the utmost importance that earnest prayer, supplication, and intercession be made just as Abraham did, if by any means the pending evils may be averted, for it is a very sacred duty enjoined upon every Christian, to pray for our leaders, so that they may be led by The Spirit of God, instead of the spirit of demons. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which shows us individually and nationally, the correct course of action to pursue, if we really desire respite from the social unrest and upheavals that are plaguing us as a country. Let's read:

2nd Chronicles 7:13  If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;  14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.  16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

He that hath and ear to hear, let him hear what The spirit saith unto the churches. God bless!
