Isaiah 40:25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. 26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
This passage of scripture expands on the sacred truths found in the fourth commandment of the Decalogue, in which The Lord clearly states that the world, and all that is therein was created by Him, and was a well thought out series of actions on His part. In the above scripture He appeals to our intelligence, by inviting us to behold the myriad stars, planets and systems making their circuit around suns, with some of them traveling at speeds which defy logic, yet not one of them fail because they are kept in their course by His omnipotent power. One of the sticking points with mortal man, as it pertains to the sacred truth of creation, is that the Bible teaches us that God does not need any raw materials to create anything, for it is His own choice to use preexisting materials, or otherwise, to call things into existence from thin air.
This mode of operation is unlike anything that man may dare to do, for in all of our so-called inventions, we must begin with some previously existing material. But not so with God, for the Bible tells us that He can use both methods at His discretion, and the fact that He does is borne out clearly in the narrative of the creation of our world. Let's read:
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
In these verses the Bible speaks of "The beginning", and this statement is never to be understood as being a vast period of time in which the earth evolved for billions of years. To put it plainly, "The beginning" is the first day of creation week, in which God spoke the world into existence from nothing that previously existed. Some people erroneously believe that God began to bring order out of chaos on the first day of the week, to a world that existed before, in disorganized form. But the scriptures refute that misguided interpretation by making several candid statements and facts about creation week. The following are just a few samples of what is written in the word, so that the truth of the matter can be understood clearly. Let's read:
Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Psalm 33:6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
The theory of evolution does great insult to God's power and intelligence by assuming that living organisms must have evolved over vast periods of time. If this indeed were the case, then how is it that for several thousand years, man has remained the same with no change whatsoever in our basic structure and appearance? The survival of the fittest is also a theory that has no support in the scripture whatsoever, for if living organisms must continually adapt to suit there surroundings in order to exist, then we are indeed overdue for some major changes in our persons.
The many electronic gadgets that have now become necessary for living, as many people erroneously think, would certainly have long caused some major adaptations in our physique, to accommodate the many I-pads, cell-phones, and Blue-tooth devices that we now wear. Yet no change is being made in our persons to "Evolve" in sync with our electronic age. And our bodies certainly would have evolved long ago to deal efficiently with all the increasing fats and sugars we are consuming daily, but for some unknown reason, no change is taking place in that area either, for instead of "Surviving" we are succumbing to the evils of intemperance.
The Lord appeals to our intelligence through His created works so that our conclusions about our existence may not be based on fanciful theories which cannot be proven, but rather on the plain utterances of the scriptures, which teach us the history of the origin of all species. And the fourth commandment in God's sacred law clears up the matter, in so much that if it were obeyed and reverenced as it ought to, there would be no evolution theory in existence, to lead millions of students into infidelity. When the Biblical account of creation is believed and adopted, then it opens up the way for a meaningful relationship with an Intelligent God to be established in our hearts, for all that we see, do, think, or say, will be done in the context of God who sees and knows all.
We therefore end with a passage of scripture which teaches us the prerequisite for any real relationship with our Creator, and it is the will of God that we do not allow our minds to be deceived by the sophistries of men. Let's read:
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study and practice of His every word. God bless!
