By Our Words We Shall Be Justified. 04/25/2015 (Morning thought)

Matthew 12:34  "For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.  35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things"....  37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified"....

This passage of scripture reveals to us that our words have a direct impact on whether we will be exonerated in the courts of heaven, for they testify of what is in our hearts. When we are immersed in Christ, and in God's word, the results will be seen in both our conversation and in our testimony, for we will naturally regurgitate verbally, that which we feed upon. When there is good treasure on the inside, good treasure will flow out to others on the outside, and anyone we come in contact with will take knowledge that we have been with Jesus. In addition to these truths, the Bible also makes a candid statement on the way victory is gained by those who will be heirs of the immortal inheritance, for it says that the word of their testimony will play a very vital role. Let's read:

Revelation 12:10  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.  11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony"...

Now, it's very important for us to often give voice to what we believe internally of the word of God and that which the The Holy Spirit moves us to utter, for not only are others benefited and warned of the things which are thus spoken, but the very words have a positive effect on us too, for it is a fact that if something is repeated over and over again by persons, they will end up believing it after a while. And once it is believed, the results will be seen in the daily life.

When Jesus called His twelve disciples together for their informal ordination, he did not send them to any of the major theological seminaries of the day, for there they would be taught a dead formalism that prides itself on intellectual knowledge, whilst the living testimonial of a converted heart was signally missing. Instead He immediately sent them out to preach, so that whatever they had seen and felt of His power could be vocalized.  And as they went forth proclaiming His praises, they too were convicted of the words they spoke, and as they beheld first-hand the results of devils being evicted from the hearts of men, and the sick being healed, to the praise and honor of God, they became all the more convinced of the truths which had been dispensed to them as a sacred treasure for the world. Let's read:

Matthew 10:1  And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.  5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying".... 7 "As ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.  8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Luke 10:17  And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.  18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Another way in which we are justified by our words, is when we dwell upon the promises of God, and resolutely refuse to give voice to complaints and murmuring, which encourage the presence of evil spirits around us, but instead sing God's praises, even in times of grave difficulty or danger. When we converse with The Lord vocally throughout the day, the devils are driven from us, for if they were to remain, they would be forced to listen to the praises and sublime truths and testimonials of God's power, and these things are deeply resented and hated by them, so that they have no choice but to leave. Hence the reason why brother Job never mentioned the name of satan, when going through his dark hour of trial, for his verbal response to the first round of trials was "Blessed be the name of the Lord". Let's read:

Job 1:20  Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,  21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.  22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

The very same attitude was manifested in Paul and Silas after they were jailed for preaching and teaching the good news of salvation. Rather than groveling in the mindset of "Why Me?",  they instead gave voice to positive sentiments through the singing of praise and victory songs, and it was in direct response to these verbalized prayers and praises, that a mighty angel was dispatched from heaven to procure their deliverance. Let's read:

Acts 16:25  And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.  26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.  27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.  28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.  29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?  31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

In our day and in our own experiences, we too can be justified by our words, if we choose to let the sunshine of God's love and grace pervade our thoughts, instead of focusing on the negatives and the perils of the way. Let the mighty promises of God be often repeated, whilst we take the two-edged word of God in our hands, and as we go forth to do battle against spiritual wickedness in high and low places, we too will be justified by our words, for they will bear testimony of the stunning victories God is giving to those who put their trust in Him. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which encourages us to speak and sing God's praises always, and the spirits of doubt, fear, and anxiety will fade away in to nothingness. Let's read:

2nd Chronicles 20:19  And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high.  20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.  21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.  22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.  24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study and practice of His every word. God bless!
