Lessons From Daniel To Ben Carson. 10/28/2015 (Evening thought)

Daniel 6:3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. 4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.

This passage of scripture contains very precious lessons from the life of Daniel, which will be repeated in the experience of Ben Carson, who will be scrutinized as if he were the only person on the planet. In the experience of Daniel, we observe that those who were being considered for political office by king Darius became exasperated in their search to find any fault in the servant of God, and after they had made thorough investigation of his life, they turned up with nothing. All of Daniel's business dealings, and the choices and decisions he had made in times past, together with his tax records, and police report, were all dissected, in an effort to find some error, by which he could be overthrown or accused.

But try as they might, they could find nothing, and therefore, being maddened by their vain and empty search, they now turned to his peculiar faith, for the only issue they could make hay of, was with the true religion of the Bible, which Daniel had both espoused and practiced daily. And since history always repeats itself, we may expect the same searching scrutiny to be also exercised against Ben Carson, and if nothing is found, and if no fault is uncovered, then those who are in the race for the presidency will have no choice but to turn to his peculiar religion in an effort to find some issue with which to prejudice the minds of the people against him, just as it was in the days of Daniel. Let's read:

Daniel 6:7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. 10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. 10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

It is important for us to observe what Daniel's competitors said of his religion, that they would not find anything against him, except it be with "The law of His God". Donald Trump recently made a statement about himself, saying that he was "Presbyterian, and that's as mainstream as you can get, but he does not know about seventh day Adventists", of whom Dr. Ben Carson is a member. What he is implying by those words is that the peculiar religion of Ben Carson is up for questioning and intense scrutiny, since it is the only truly protestant religion remaining in the world today, as is clearly stated by the Vatican.

Thus, we can expect that the issue of the Sabbath, contained in the law of God, will be one of the focal points for dispute as the debates intensify, and also the peculiar beliefs we hold, as they pertain to eschatological events, will certainly come into question. This is all well and good, for it is high time that the world be exposed to the truth as it is in Jesus, and if it is the will of God that these debates and examinations be the means of letting the whole world know of present truths, then so be it, for Christ has clearly stated in His word, that "This gospel" of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come.

It is of critical importance then for us, together with Ben Carson, to tow the line, by living in harmony with every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God, for we are to be faithful witnesses to the truth, both in theory and in practice. God may choose to do a "strange work" that no one is expecting, and therefore, we all should be willing and ready to rise to the occasion, whenever duty calls. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which reminds us that we are made a spectacle to the entire world, for the sole purpose of bringing the true knowledge of God to a benighted world. Let's read:

1st Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. 9 "For we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

May God add His blessing to the study and practice of His word. "Good night" and God bless!
