Our Dire Need Of Christ, The Physician. 10/11/2015 (Morning thought)

Matthew 9:12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

This passage of scripture teaches us of our urgent need of Christ, the Physician, both as a nation and on an individual level, for our spiritual cancers are now multiplying and spreading to other areas, heretofore not affected. Jesus made the point that only those who are sick will need a physician, and it would do us well to consider what the purpose of any physician is, for this knowledge will shed great light on the work Christ is now doing in the heavenly courts, and also what we as Christians are supposed to be doing on this earth, in the day and era in which we now live.

First of all, a physician is never called upon to administer healing for diseases or ailments thatare nonexistent in his patients, for why should we be given medicines for issues we are not suffering with? For instance, if a person were to go see their family doctor for a migraine headache, we will be very surprised if the doctor then recommended a prescription for acne, for this will not only be counterproductive, but will also not address the medical issue for which the patient came to visit in the first place.

Thus, the primary work of the physician is to take care of the many ailments, diseases, cancers, and sores with which his patients suffer, and until this is done, the process of healing can never take place. This is the work that Jesus Christ is addressing in the heavenly sanctuary, by making Himself available to all of us, His patients so that we can be healed of our varied and multitudinous maladies. Let's read:

Isaiah 1:5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. 6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

Luke 4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Now, The Lord will have us understand that there is a job description known as a physician's assistant, one who is in tune with what the physician is doing, and who is to help in sensible and practical ways, the doctor whom he serves. Thus it is of critical importance that we as Christ's assistants in the delicate work of healing, be fully aware of the spiritual maladies with which the multitudes suffer, so that we may assist in their recovery, working in tandem with the Great Physician, even Jesus Christ.

This is the very reason why the book of Revelation addresses the current cancers we are suffering with in the spiritual realm, for many false doctrines and erroneous theories have eaten away at our spiritual sinews, and worst yet, they are now found to be spreading to other ares. Hence the reason why the main thrust of the last book in the Bible is to deal squarely with the problems we are affected with, not wasting time and energy on those issues which are already clear to the understanding of most Christians. Let's read:

Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. 8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

For instance, let's take the following passage of scripture which deals with the bare essentials of salvation, teaching us what is required for any member of the human family to be saved. Let's read:

Romans 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise"...8 "Even"... "the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

This is all well and good, but guess what, the majority of Christians have already believed that Christ died and rose from the dead, in addition to which every Christian living today has already confessed with the mouth, The Lord Jesus. So The Physician in Revelation does not address these issues, for they have already been covered and understood by most Christians.

Thus the issue which needs to be addressed is the issue of worship, for the overwhelming majority of Christians living today, worship on the first day of the week, a day which has no scriptural authority whatsoever, therefore The Physician is calling the attention of both His patients, and His assistants to the urgency of the work that needs to be done, and in harmony with that specific mission, He labels the messages thus given in Revelation 14 as being "The everlasting gospel".

We therefore end with a passage of scripture which emphasizes this sacred and momentous truth, by which the eternal destiny of every person will be decided, and it is the will of God that His earthly assistants now step up to the plate and deliver this specific gospel to the multitudes, in harmony with what The Great Physician has already prescribed. Let's read:

Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation".... 11 "And they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

He that hath an ear to hear, let him hear what The Physician saith to His assistants. God bless!
