1st John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
This passage of scripture clearly defines what constitutes sin, which is the transgression of the law of God. Every sovereign nation on this earth has laws which cannot be disregarded or broken with impunity, and the very same principle applies to the law of God. A violation of any of the Divine precepts is what is described as sin, and therefore it is very important for us not to presume to change the definition given by God, for by so doing we will be attempting to take God's place as Sovereign Ruler of the universe, and any such deliberate effort is going to draw a harsh response from God, sooner or later. This is what The Lord Himself has plainly stated, and His warnings against such actions must be heeded. Let's read:
Isaiah 24:3 The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the Lord hath spoken this word. 4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. 5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. 6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
When God created Adam and Eve He set the template for all future generations to follow, in that He provided one "Female wife" for Adam as a help meet and as a companion, to share the joys of life's experiences with. And Jesus also reiterated the same sacred truth as He clearly expounded on the same matter to those who were questioning Him on the issue of divorce, which had become so widespread and acceptable to society back then, that the dissolution of marriages was sought for the most trivial of reasons. Let's read:
Genesis 2:21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Matthew 19:3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
But in our day we have attempted to change God's original order by presuming to describe marriage as a contract between two consenting adults, and in some cultures the definition now includes minors, and several spouses. This is a very dangerous trend and if it is allowed to take root in the earth, we will live to see the day when marriage will be defined as a contract between two or more humans, thus preparing the way for adults to marry minors, and children to marry children, and in extreme cases, pets may also be included, for sin always takes us further than we expect to go, and will indeed cost us much more than we are willing to pay.
It was because of the altered and corrupted versions of the marriage institution why The Lord brought stern judgments on the doomed cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, and just as if we have not learned our lessons from sacred history, we are once more following in their footsteps, and taking it even further by redefining what God has made very plain. The God of heaven warns us about these recent moves to redefine the marriage institution, and it is His will that an immediate reversal be made, lest He permit satan to run riot in the earth and sweep millions of people into Christ-less graves. This is what He has warned us time and time again about, and it is now high time that we step up to the plate by confession and forsaking of sin. Let's read:
Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
2nd Peter 2:4 For...."God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 5 And spared not the old world" ...... "bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly.
All manner of sin will be forgiven unto men, but we dare not attempt to re-define what sin is, for by doing so we effectively lock ourselves into an iron destiny, which no amount of grace and mercy from God can deliver us from. God has not changed, neither has His laws, and therefore He pleads, and calls us to repentance before we go too far, and the judgments that are written be executed in the earth. God is more than willing to forgive and cleanse, but sin must be called by its right name in order for salvation to have any beneficial effect in us.
We therefore end with an earnest plea from God that addresses these and similar issues of a deliberate departure from the path of rectitude, and it is His will that urgent repentance, changes, and reforms be made without delay, for He will forgive and turn aside the coming judgments, just like He did with the ancient city of Nineveh. Let's read:
2nd Chronicles 7:12 And the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him" .... 13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
He that hath an ear to hear, let him hear what The Spirit of God is saying to the churches, and also to the multitude of earth's inhabitants, for we are now walking a thin line, and are treading on very dangerous ground. God bless!
