Genesis 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
These verses of scripture describe for us the condition of the hearts and minds of the antediluvians, who carried iniquity to another level, and thereby precipitated what we now know as the flood or deluge. Several prominent sins are mentioned in the passage, beginning with a perversion of the marriage institution, continuing with universal corruption on an unprecedented level, and ending with violence, bloodshed, and brutality, which then called for the intervention of God via the flood. God is not only kind and merciful, He is also just, and therefore whatever we do on an individual or national level we will have to give an account to God in the day of judgement. This fact is clearly stated in the scriptures over and over again. Let's read:
Ecclesiastes13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Romans 14:11 "As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
The conditions that prevailed in the antediluvian world, are now resurfacing at an alarming rate, and the prophecies which point to the end of all things are being fulfilled before our very eyes. It is amazing that the brutality of man against man, as being manifested currently in various parts of the world, does not disturb our consciences anymore as it used to, and this is because we are being desensitized, by the constant barrage of news depicting horrific crimes on a daily basis, and even though earth's probation is swiftly drawing to a close, yet millions seem to be unmindful of that fact, and we often go about our lives as if it were "Business as usual". Christ Himself warned that the conditions which existed before the flood, will again be manifested in the days just prior to His second coming, and just as the flood took the world by surprise, just so will the destruction of the earth catch millions off-guard. Let's read:
Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
God will not permit the violence of man to continue unrestrained for much longer, for He has clearly stated that He will mete out justice to those who destroy the earth, and other fellow human beings.
Isaiah 2:20 In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; 21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
The only reason why God's retributive judgments seem to be delayed is so that He can finish the work of sealing His servants in their foreheads, so that they wouldn't be moved by the cataclysmic events that are soon to unfold across the globe. Let's read:
Revelation 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
It therefore behooves every intelligent person, not to become all agitated and out of whack on account of the tribulations that are coming upon the earth, but rather to look up, knowing that our redemption draws near, and therefore the decisions for Christ that have been put on the back burner for too long, need to be made without delay. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which calls us to repentance, by heeding the voice of entreaty spoken to us by the Holy Spirit. Let us then awake out of slumber, knowing that the dawning of a new day is on the horizon, and if our lives are given to God for preservation, then there will be no need to fear for the perils of the last day. Let's read:
Hebrews 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts" ....
May the Lord add His blessing to the study and doing of His every word. "Good night" and God bless!
