Mark 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
The passage above plainly states that the Sabbath was made with man's best interest in mind, for it is scheduled at the end of every work week, just when the cares of life threaten our sanity and well-being. One of the reasons why it is given in a stipulated cyclical form, is because it was designed to conform to the very principle of rest, which is embedded in our physical being. This principle of rest is deeply entrenched in everything that pertains to our existence, from our breathing, to our heartbeat, from the way we blink, to the seasonal production of fruit and grain, they all contain the principle of rest.
For instance, we inhale and then exhale, our hearts beat by pumping blood, and then it rests, we use our eyes for a period of time and then we rest them by blinking. One of the main problems with the substitute Sabbath, namely Sunday, is that it occurs at the beginning of the work week, before any exertion on the part of man is made, instead of at the end when the rest is really needed, and thus it presents a diabolically opposed system of rest to God's original Sabbath, and therefore is neither beneficial, or even needed by man. The scriptures clearly state that God rested after His work, not before His work, and in so doing He set the precedent for us to follow, who were created in His image and in His likeness. Let's read:
Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
There are millions of sincere Christians who are caught up in the substitute cycle of rest, and who have unknowingly subscribed to that which has been instituted by Rome, yet many of us describe ourselves as being protestants. The question then is "What exactly is being protested, if we are found to be walking in harmony with an institution that has been drafted by man, and for which there is no scriptural authority"? For this reason, The God of heaven is now calling on all true-hearted Christians and people everywhere to renounce this false day of worship in favor of the true Sabbath, so that we can once again be in harmony with the principle of rest, as given by God Himself.
We therefore end with a passage of scripture which encourages every member of the human family, to align ourselves with our Creator, by resting on the Seventh day Sabbath, which He has given for our best good. Let's read:
Isaiah 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: 14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
May God bless our efforts at reform in this important matter, for if we desire to spend eternity with God, we must begin by obeying His every word, and practice makes perfect. God bless!
