Deuteronomy 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
This passage of scripture issues a warning against dabbling with any of the darker arts pertaining to the work, interaction with, and agency of evil spirits, in any form or fashion. The prohibition here given is for every member of the human family, not only for Christians, for the negative results of doing contrary to what the scriptures teach, will be felt by anyone who disregards the cautions here given.
Many people ignorantly invite evil spirits into their homes via the various horror movies, and violent video games that some see as being completely innocent, yet when the facts are closely investigated, it is revealed that many of the negative behaviors manifested in our children today, and even in some adults, can be linked to the material that was viewed in theatres, or in the privacy of one's home. The reason for this cause and effect syndrome is because we are gradually changed into whatsoever we allow our minds to dwell on, a fact that is not often taken into consideration by parents and individuals, Many of the mass shootings of innocent people and students, is a direct result of dealing with "Familiar spirits" on one level or another, and the problem has now ballooned into an epidemic, prompting the following wise counsel from our Creator. Let's read:
Isaiah 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? 20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
The many Harry Potter movies and other like demonstrations of satanic agencies, together with all of the violent video games that are indulged in by the public, will one day result in a nationwide invasion of evil spirits, who will then be in direct control of all minds that were given over to their jurisdiction, and the result will be that the devil and his cohorts will plunge the nation over the spiritual precipice, from which there will be no return.
That's why The God of heaven is literally pleading with us to refrain from these indulgences before it is eternally too late, and if we are willing and obedient to His voice, He will provide the necessary change of heart and desires, which are the root of the problem. Furthermore, we are to cooperate with Him in avoiding that which will suggest evil thoughts, by ridding our homes of anything that is vile, or that savors of the "Familiar spirits" spoken about.
We therefore end with a passage of scripture which encourage us to let our minds dwell on that which is good, upright and uplifting, and God promises the necessary grace to keep our hearts and minds stayed on Him throughout the day. Let's read:
Philippians 4:8 Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
