Why Persons Get Angry with God. Part [6] 03/08/2025 (Morning thought)

John 6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world. 15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

[The Desire of Ages pp 718] Notwithstanding the Savior's own teaching, Judas was continually advancing the idea that Christ would reign as king in Jerusalem. At the feeding of the five thousand he tried to bring this about. Judas was first to take advantage of the enthusiasm excited by the miracle of the loaves. It was he who set on foot the project to take Christ by force, and make Him king. His hopes were high, his disappointment was bitter.

But the Scriptures are written to inform us of God’s purposes, as it pertains to interventions, and even though at times He will execute judgements where needed, He does reserve the Sovereign right to do so at His discretion, not at our discretion. Many persons are currently, and suddenly being put into very difficult situations, and the Christian may balk at the cruelty, and the injustice that seems to be running rampant, with no end in sight.

The fact is that these things are predicted in God’s word to multiply greatly upon the earth, just before the 2nd coming of Christ. Thus, the Christian in our day must manage his expectations prudently.

Matthew 24:And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!

Why Persons Get Angry with God. Part [5] 03/08/2025 (Evening thought)

John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

[The Desire of Ages pp 718] Christ's oft-repeated statement that His kingdom was not of this world offended Judas. He had marked out a line upon which he expected Christ to work. He had planned that John the Baptist should be delivered from prison. But lo, John was left to be beheaded. And Jesus, instead of asserting His royal right and avenging the death of John, retired with His disciples into a country place. Judas wanted more aggressive warfare. He thought that if Jesus would not prevent the disciples from carrying out their schemes, the work would be more successful.

Now, consider the above statement which says “He had planned that John the Baptist should be delivered from prison.” , because it is quite possible, that if John was alive in our day, and a poll was taken within Christendom, concerning whether or not he should be delivered, most, if not all of us would likely agree with Judas, that John should be delivered. That’s all well and good from a finite perspective but if God determines that in this instance, deliverance is not the best route to take, the Christian should be humble enough to agree with The Lord’s decision.

Humility is not only accepting Christ as our Lord and Savior, but it also includes us being willing to follow where God leads the way, even at times when we may have our own personal reservations. This is what Judas was not willing to do, because, whenever his plans crossed paths with God’s own, he would become angry, and bitter against Christ.

Micah 6:He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
