The Latter Rain Mindset. Part [7] 02/20/2025 (Morning thought)

Acts 15:24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, You must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment.

Again, under the outpouring of the early rain, the new converts were not to be initially burdened with months and years of studies, before being baptized, for the seeds of truth had already been planted, and now it was time to reap. Similarly, the latter rain is given in the context of reaping earth’s final harvests. The seeds of present truth have been sown, and now The Lord of the harvest puts in His sickle to reap.

Acts 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; 29 That you abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if you keep yourselves, you shall do well. Fare you well. 30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle: 31 Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

That’s it? Certainly, there must be a whole lot more that they could have been be taught, but for now, the “Necessary Things” number only 4: They must abstain from meats offered to idols, from eating blood, from things that are strangled, and from fornication. In other words, the new converts to Christianity were not to be overloaded with truth at this time, but were instead to be fed the essentials as The Holy Ghost would lead.

Acts 15:32 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them. 33 And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!

The Latter Rain Mindset. Part [6] 02/20/2025 (Evening thought)

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

When asked by the people, “What shall we do” a clear, concise answer is given, not any longwinded Bible studies for many months, but rather the gospel, or present truth, in a precis format, to meet the present needs of the people back then. Here it is again, where the jailor realizes that he will be killed by the authorities, if there indeed was a prison break, on account of the earthquake that had shaken the place.

He asks a simple straight forward question, and the reply comes back in precis form, with only one Bible study being given to prepare him, and his family for baptism at that time. Remember, all of these things took place under the early rain, and they are scheduled to be repeated, and even multiplied greatly when the latter rain falls upon the earth. Large numbers will be admitted into the ranks of God’s remnant people, who will be hearing present truths for the very first time.

Acts 16: 29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” 32 And they spoke unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

Acts 16:33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
