Your Incredible Freedom of Choice. Part [10] 07/19/2024 (Morning thought)

Romans 9:19 Thou wilt say then unto me, why does he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

God can justifiably find fault, because in every single instance, without exception, God has permitted the human agent to exercise intelligence, and freedom of choice. That is why he did not prevent Isaac from choosing to go contrary to His revealed will.

Instead, He worked through Isaac’s folly to get His will done. And that is why He did not prevent Jacob and Rebekah from doing the unthinkable, because we are free moral agents, and the intelligent mind is always to be left untrammeled, to make deliberate decisions, either for good, or for evil.

The fact is that God never hardened pharaoh’s heart by preventing him from doing the right thing. At the first interaction with pharaoh, God, through Moses told him to let His people go, and if at that time, the king was disposed to obey, there would have been an entirely different after history of that ill-fated monarch.

Exodus 5:1 And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, thus, saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. 2 And Pharaoh said, who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!

Your Incredible Freedom of Choice. Part [9] 07/19/2024 (Evening thought)

Deuteronomy 4:39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else. 40 Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.

In fact, The Lord may warn and give counsel to the contrary, but if a person deliberately decides to do something stupid, there is nothing that God will do, in most cases. God has given in His word clear instructions on what clean meats can be eaten. But if anyone is hell bent on doing it “MY Way” God allows them to eat their fill of forbidden foods. Thus, persons can go to their favorite restaurant and eat as many crabs and lobsters as they like, whether it is all you can eat, or all you should eat, it matters not. The choice is yours.

Folks will not find any angel of God, with a flaming sword at the entrance, preventing any person from having their fill. It all has to do with your incredible freedom of choice which was given to us by God, to hopefully use in ways that will be in harmony with His good will.

The same was true of pharaoh, of whom the Bible says God hardened his heart. The Lord does not and He has never hardened anyone’s heart, against their own will. Like as it is with any created intelligence, the Egyptian monarch was free to choose, and thus, if he chooses to do good or evil, God could, and will work within the paradigm he chooses.

Romans 9: 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardens.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
