When You Disagree with God. Part [12] 06/25/2024 (Morning thought)

Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

God has not called us primarily to agree with Him, but rather to obey Him, and obedience, at such a time as this, when things seem to be going off the rails on several fronts, is the time when we need to understand that God is still on His throne. Whenever it might seem to us that God is going off- script, that is the very time when we’ll need to trust Him most.

The Christian walk is a walk by faith, for if we were to understand everything God does, and if we were to agree with every move He makes, then we would not need any faith. But faith trusts God where we cannot trace Him and obedience to His every word and instruction at such a time when we might not see the future clearly, as He does is a must, for it’s only the mind of faith that will be prepared for what might be coming upon the earth in short order.

We therefore end with a passage of Scripture that will encourage us to walk by faith in God alone, as we trust His every move, for his thoughts and ways are higher than ours, as much as the heavens are higher than the earth.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!

When You Disagree with God. Part [11] 06/25/2024 (Evening thought)

Revelation 13:And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

[The Great Controversy pp 606] Thousands upon thousands will listen who have never heard words like these. In amazement they hear the testimony that Babylon is the church, fallen because of her errors and sins, because of her rejection of the truth sent to her from Heaven. As the people go to their former teachers with the eager inquiry, Are these things so? the ministers present fables, prophesy smooth things, to soothe their fears, and quiet the awakened conscience.

But since many refuse to be satisfied with the mere authority of men, and demand a plain “Thus saith the Lord,” the popular ministry, like the Pharisees of old, filled with anger as their authority is questioned, will denounce the message as of Satan, and stir up the sin-loving multitudes to revile and persecute those who proclaim it. As the controversy extends into new fields, and the minds of the people are called to God's down-trodden law, Satan is astir. The power attending the message will only madden those who oppose it.

The clergy will put forth almost superhuman efforts to shut away the light, lest it should shine upon their flocks. By every means at their command they will endeavor to suppress the discussion of these vital questions. The church appeals to the strong arm of civil power, and in this work, papists and Protestants unite. As the movement for Sunday enforcement becomes more bold and decided, the law will be invoked against commandment-keepers. They will be threatened with fines and imprisonment, and some will be offered positions of influence, and other rewards and advantages, as inducements to renounce their faith.

Revelation 13:And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
