Joseph In Egypt. Part [1] 05/18/2024 (Evening thought)

Genesis 37:26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood? 27 Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content.

[Patriarchs & Prophets pp 213] Meanwhile, Joseph with his captors was on the way to Egypt. As the caravan journeyed southward toward the borders of Canaan, the boy could discern in the distance the hills among which lay his father's tents. Bitterly he wept at thought of that loving father in his loneliness and affliction. Again the scene at Dothan came up before him. He saw his angry brothers and felt their fierce glances bent upon him. The stinging, insulting words that had met his agonized entreaties were ringing in his ears.

With a trembling heart he looked forward to the future. What a change in situation—from the tenderly cherished son to the despised and helpless slave! Alone and friendless, what would be his lot in the strange land to which he was going? For a time Joseph gave himself up to uncontrolled grief and terror. But, in the providence of God, even this experience was to be a blessing to him. He had learned in a few hours that which years might not otherwise have taught him.

His father, strong and tender as his love had been, had done him wrong by his partiality and indulgence. This unwise preference had angered his brothers and provoked them to the cruel deed that had separated him from his home. Its effects were manifest also in his own character. Faults had been encouraged that were now to be corrected. He was becoming self-sufficient and exacting. Accustomed to the tenderness of his father's care, he felt that he was unprepared to cope with the difficulties before him, in the bitter, uncared-for life of a stranger and a slave.

Genesis 37:28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!

The Final Conflict Between Good and Evil. Part [18] 05/17/2024 (Morning thought)

2nd Thessalonians 2:Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

In fact, when we read in the Bible of the man of sin sitting in the seat of God showing himself to be God, it is the tendency and habit of the antichrist system to coerce and persuade through economic sanctions a form of worship and obedience that pits all those who subscribe to it, against the God of heaven, and the true worship that is due to Him.

Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. 16 The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

Therefore, the choice is clear, and the question is singular: Will the you and me in the here and now worship God in harmony with the scriptures, thus showing our allegiance to The God of heaven, or will we go with the flow of the popular majorities, and give our allegiance to the serpent? The answer to this question lies within our freedom of choice, and will ultimately determine our eternal   destiny. We therefore end with two passages from the Scriptures, showing us the gravity of the choices before us.

Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
